Bruce MacEwen, Adam Smith, Esq. founder, president and author, provides consulting services to law firms in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.

Bruce MacEwen has broad experience in the legal industry, having practiced securities law in-house for nearly ten years at Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter; and prior to that practiced litigation and corporate law with two prominent New York law firms.  Before founding Adam Smith, Esq., Mr. MacEwen was CEO of a dot-com company. 

Mr. MacEwen has written for or been quoted in a broad range of national and legal trade publications, including: The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg News, International Herald Tribune, National Law Journal, and ABA Journal.  He has been named as one of six charter members of the Editorial Board of the US edition of the UK legal magazine, Managing Partner

He frequently appears as a speaker at law firm retreats and legal industry conferences addressing strategy, finance, and IT issues.  He has lectured at Harvard, Georgetown, and NYU law schools on law firm economics and the realities of a 21st Century law firm.

He is an adjunct professor at SUNY/Stony Brook's Graduate College of Business, where he has taught the core course "Strategic Technology & Innovation" in the MBA program exclusively for law firm leaders.

Mr. MacEwen earned his B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University, his J.D. from Stanford Law School, and he has completed his MBA coursework at NYU's Stern School of Business.
