Altman Weil Names Marci Krufka New Principal

Newtown Square, PA, June 7, 2006 — Marci M. Krufka, a Senior Consultant with legal management consultancy Altman Weil, Inc., has been named as the firm’s newest principal.  Ms. Krufka’s practice focuses on strategy and management for law firms and corporate law departments throughout the United States.

“We are delighted to welcome Marci as a principal in the firm,” said Altman Weil Managing Director, Jim Wilber.   “She adds depth to our core practices in strategy and management as well as bringing innovative new thinking to developing areas of practice group management and leadership training and development.”

Ms. Krufka’s work involves strategic planning, management, organizational structure and marketing strategy, as well as practice group management and planning initiatives.  She has extensive experience conducting client surveys and outside counsel analyses and planning and leading retreats.

Prior to joining Altman Weil, Ms. Krufka practiced with a law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She also worked in the legal department of a Fortune 500 corporation.

She has written widely on legal management topics for publications including National Law Journal, ABA Law Practice, New York Law Journal and Legal Times.  She has contributed comments to stories on the legal industry in the New York Times, The American Lawyer and the National Law Journal.  She serves on the Editorial Board of Law Firm Partnership and Benefits Report. 

Ms. Krufka is a frequent lecturer for groups such as the American Bar Association, Association of Legal Administrators, Legal Marketing Association, Defense Research Institute, state bar associations, law firm networks and others.  She serves as a regular faculty member for Altman Weil Leadership Seminars. 

She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law and Law Practice Management Sections, the Legal Marketing Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association. 

Ms. Krufka received her B.A. from the University of Scranton and her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law.  She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
