Altman Weil Names William Brennan New Principal

William F. Brennan, a consultant with legal management consultancy Altman Weil, Inc., has been named as the firm’s newest principal.  Mr. Brennan’s practice focuses on merger counseling for law firms, including qualified candidate searches and deal structuring, as well as issues of law firm financial management.

“We are very pleased to welcome Bill as a principal in the firm,” said Altman Weil Managing Director, Tom Clay.   “He makes an important contribution to our Merger Group with the combination of his deal-making skills and his deep knowledge of law firm finance.”

Mr. Brennan has over 20 years experience in the legal profession.  For over a decade he has worked with law firms helping to develop strategic business plans, improve profitability, and plan, structure and implement mergers and acquisitions.  He served as Director of Administration and Chief Financial Officer for two AmLaw 200 law firms. He began his career at Price Waterhouse as an accountant and consultant specializing in financial planning and control.

Mr. Brennan has written and lectured extensively on management issues pertaining to the legal profession for national and local organizations including the ABA, local bar associations and the Association of Legal Administrators.

He has achieved the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and is a former member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.  He is past Vice Chair of Finance of the Law Practice Management Section of the American Bar Association, and a Past President of the Association of Legal Administrators – Philadelphia Chapter.  He is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College.
