New Concerns for Chief Legal Officers
January 5, 2001 -- Managing outside counsel while balancing the legal needs of corporations is tougher than ever, according to a new survey of Chief Legal Officers. The study, conducted jointly by the American Corporate Counsel Association (ACCA) and legal consultants Altman Weil, Inc. at ACCA’s 2000 Annual Meeting, showed that CLO’s have higher expectations of their departments and their outside counsel – and that under performing law firms will be weeded out in 2001.
