Noted Corporate Attorney Michael C. Ross Joins Legal Consultants Altman Weil, Inc.

Newtown Square, PA, February 7, 2002 — Michael C. Ross, an attorney with 25 years experience working with a major law firm and a Fortune 50 corporation has joined Altman Weil, Inc. In his new position Ross will be available to Altman Weil clients for consulting assignments in the areas of managing major transactions, law department organization, managing compliance programs, marketing, and ethics and conflict of interest issues. He also teaches a seminar on corporate mergers and acquisitions at two top-ranking law schools.

Ross was most recently Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary with Safeway Inc. in Pleasanton, CA, where he oversaw both the legal and real estate law divisions. His responsibilities included company-wide security, environmental health and safety and risk management. Before joining Safeway, Ross was a Corporate Partner with the Latham & Watkins law firm in Los Angeles where his practice specialized in mergers and acquisitions.

Ross received a B.A. degree with honors from University of Virginia. After serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy he returned to the University of Virginia School of Law where he received his J.D. degree. He and his family make their home in Orinda, CA.
