Altman Weil's Ward Bower Honored as Trailblazer in the Legal Profession

Newtown Square, PA, December 17, 2013 - Legal management consultancy, Altman Weil, Inc. is proud to announce that Ward Bower has been named to the National Law Journals inaugural list of 50 Business of Law Trailblazers & Pioneers.  He was recognized in the category of Strategists and Drivers for his work on law firm mergers and acquisitions.

In a preface to the awards, NLJ publisher Kenneth Gary described the designees as “people who have truly ‘moved the needle’ in facilitating the changing ways that law firms conduct business.”

Mr. Bower is a principal of Altman Weil and an internationally known advisor on issues of strategic importance to law firms throughout North America, Latin America, the UK, Europe and Australia.  He has facilitated some of the largest law firm mergers in the world. The National Law Journal specifically noted Mr. Bower’s strategic role as advisor in the evolution of global law firm DLA Piper from its origins as a 12-lawyer regional firm in the UK thirty years ago.

“It has been a privilege and pleasure to spend a career working with some of the brightest and most creative minds in the legal industry,” commented Bower.  “I’ve had a seat at the table during a period of enormous growth and change in this profession.  It’s always interesting.”

Two Altman Weil Alliance Partners were also named in the Strategist category.  Tony Williams, founding principal of UK-based Jomati Consultants, was recognized for his work on cross-border mergers.  Bruce MacEwen, president of Adam Smith, Esq., was honored for his astute and thoughtful analysis of the legal market.
