Executive Director in Raleigh

Applications still are welcomed for this exciting opportunity to join the leadership team as the Executive Director of the largest business and litigation law firm headquartered in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. The firm is vibrant and growing. The location is ideal – two hours from the beaches of the Outer Banks to the east, and two hours from the mountains of Asheville to the west.

The incumbent is retiring this summer from this firm that has a proud legacy of helping clients succeed for more than 100 years. The single location enables a culture of collaboration, strategy and cohesiveness in support of the firm’s clients and its employees. Diversity and inclusion are embraced in a firm culture in which differences are valued. The firm insists on integrity and routinely gives back to the communities it is proud to serve.

The Executive Director reports directly to the Managing Partner and has responsibility for the firm’s overall administration, including accounting and finance, operations, information technology, human resources and facilities management. The successful candidate will have excellent academic credentials, proven executive and management skills and experience (preferably in a law firm environment), a strong background in law firm economics and profitability, and the skills to serve as the principal administrator of a successful law firm. Especially important are financial analytical skills and strategies, along with knowledge of marketplace challenges facing law firms in this hyper-competitive environment, including strategy, pricing, lateral acquisition, and a big-picture view of what technology can do to assist the firm’s practitioners and serve the communication and legal services needs of its clients.

The highly-competitive compensation package is commensurate with the position and responsibilities.
