Pamela H. Woldow is a principal of Altman Weil, Inc. She works on areas of strategic and operational importance to both legal departments and law firms, focusing on improving the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective legal services, selecting and managing outside counsel, convergence programs, litigation management, and all aspects of the counsel-client relationship.
Ms. Woldow has broad experience managing legal departments, handling matters across the U.S. and globally. She has created sophisticated national legal department management functions from scratch, including compliance protocols, budgeting, staffing, convergence, RFP, e-discovery, matter tracking functions, and information reporting protocols for C-level executives and Boards of Directors. Her understanding of the counsel-client relationship is enhanced by her practice experience in large and boutique law firms.
Prior to joining Altman Weil, she was a partner and the National Practice Leader for Litigation Services for Smart and Associates, a national accounting and consulting firm. Her career has also included positions as Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance, Deputy General Counsel of Pennsylvania, and Associate General Counsel and Director of Risk Management and Litigation Management for a $2 billion public financial services corporation. Earlier, she handled complex commercial and environmental litigation with Duane Morris and Manko, Gold & Katcher.
Ms. Woldow speaks frequently on risk management, insurance and litigation issues for such groups as the Risk Management Association, the Insurance Society of Philadelphia, the Chicago and New York Bar Associations, and various law schools. She has written widely on topics of interest to in-house counsel for such publications as the New York Law Journal, Pennsylvania Bar Institute and Accounting Today.
She is a member of the AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (ARIAS), the International Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She has served as Chairman of the Education Committee for the International Association of Insurance Receivers (IAIR).
Education
Ms. Woldow received her B.A. from Temple University and her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars.
She has been designated a Certified Master Coach by the Behavioral Coaching Institute and is a member of the International Coaching Council.
