Pamela H. Woldow is a principal with Altman Weil, Inc.  She provides advice to General Counsel and Chief Legal Officers on law department operations, litigation management and the selection and supervision of outside counsel.  She advises law firms on alternative fee arrangements, the counsel selection process, responding to RFPs, and all aspects of counsel-client relationships.

She is a Certified Master Coach, providing leadership development coaching to senior lawyers in law firms and law departments, with a special expertise in helping individual lawyers with client relations and business development.

Ms. Woldow's career has included positions as Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance, Deputy General Counsel of Pennsylvania, General Counsel at a subsidiary of Advanta Corporation, and Director of Litigation Management for a $2 billion public financial services company. She also managed the national litigation support practice as partner in a consulting and accounting firm.  Her earlier legal practice experience included complex commercial and environmental litigation with Duane Morris & Heckscher and Manko, Gold & Katcher.

Ms. Woldow has extensive experience managing legal departments, handling matters throughout the U.S. and globally.  As Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance, Ms. Woldow managed annual litigation budgets of over $100 million and a large internal legal staff.  Her role also included retaining and supervising outside counsel. She has created sophisticated legal department functions from scratch, including budgeting, compliance, convergence, RFPs, e-discovery, e-billing and all aspects of litigation management.

She speaks frequently on trends in the legal marketplace for law firms as well as such groups as the Inside Counsel SuperConference, Center for Competitive Management, Institutional Investors Legal Forum, Managing Partner Forum, Defense Research Institute and Chicago and New York Bar Associations.  Her articles have appeared in The New York Law Journal, Accounting Today, JTW News, The Insurance Receiver, and Pennsylvania Bar Institute Publications

She is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the American Bar Association, and the AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (ARIAS).  She is a member of the Board of the IBA Corporate Counsel Forum.  And, she has served as Chairman of the Education Committee for the International Association of Insurance Receivers (IAIR).

Education

Ms. Woldow received her B.A. from Temple University and her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars.

She has been designated a Certified Master Coach by the Behavioral Coaching Institute and is a member of the International Coaching Council.
